2026 Buick Enclave
2027 Infiniti QX60

Safety

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Buick Enclave achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, outperforming the Infiniti QX60 which scored only an “Acceptable” in these critical safety features.

The Buick Enclave’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Infiniti QX60 does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Enclave and QX60 have Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Enclave has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The QX60’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Enclave and the QX60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive, front parking sensors and driver alert monitors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does 35 MPH front crash tests on new vehicles. In this test, results indicate that the Buick Enclave is safer than the Infiniti QX60:

There are almost 4 times as many Buick dealers as there are Infiniti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Enclave’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Buick vehicles are better in initial quality than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Buick above average in initial quality. With 59 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is rated below average.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the statistics that show that Buick vehicles are more reliable than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Buick second in reliability, above the industry average. With 65 more problems per 100 vehicles, Infiniti is ranked 13th.

Engine

The Enclave’s 2.5 turbo 4-cylinder produces 60 more horsepower (328 vs. 268) and 40 lbs.-ft. more torque (326 vs. 286) than the QX60’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the Buick Enclave is faster than the Infiniti QX60:

Fuel Economy and Range

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Buick Enclave uses regular unleaded gasoline. The QX60 requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Enclave FWD’s standard fuel tank has almost a gallon more fuel capacity than the QX60 (19.4 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Enclave AWD’s standard fuel tank has 3.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the QX60 (21.7 vs. 18.5 gallons).

The Enclave has a standard locking fuel door, which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the QX60. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Buick Enclave higher (6 out of 10) than the Infiniti QX60 (5). This means the Enclave produces up to 6.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the QX60 every 15,000 miles.

Brakes and Stopping

The Enclave stops much shorter than the QX60:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Enclave’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the QX60 (275/45R22 vs. 255/50R20).

The Enclave’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the QX60 Pure’s standard 60 series tires. The Enclave’s optional tires have a lower 45 series profile than the QX60 Luxe/Sport/Autograph’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Enclave has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the QX60 Pure. The Enclave’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels on the QX60 Luxe/Sport/Autograph.

The Buick Enclave’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Infiniti QX60 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Suspension and Handling

The Enclave offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The QX60’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Enclave’s wheelbase is 6.7 inches longer than on the QX60 (120.9 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

The Enclave Avenir handles at .83 G’s, while the QX60 Luxe AWD pulls only .82 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For greater off-road capability the Enclave Avenir has a greater minimum ground clearance than the QX60 (7.3 vs. 6.8 inches), allowing the Enclave to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The front grille of the Enclave uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The QX60 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Enclave has 1.6 inches more front headroom, 2.2 inches more front legroom, .3 inches more front hip room, 1.6 inches more front shoulder room, 2.5 inches more rear headroom, 3.8 inches more rear legroom, 1.8 inches more rear hip room, 2.4 inches more rear shoulder room, 2.6 inches more third row headroom, 4.1 inches more third row legroom, 3.3 inches more third row hip room and 2.2 inches more third row shoulder room than the QX60.

Cargo Capacity

The Enclave’s cargo area provides more volume than the QX60.

Pressing a switch automatically lowers the Enclave’s optional second and third row seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The QX60 doesn’t offer automatic folding second row seats.

Towing

A Trailer Sway Control is standard on the Enclave, using the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. A trailer sway program costs extra on the QX60.

Ergonomics

The Enclave’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The QX60 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Enclave’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from pocket or purse. Infiniti Intelligent Key standard on the QX60 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear doors.

The Enclave’s optional Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The QX60 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

Economic Advantages

According to iSeeCars.com the 2026 Buick Enclave retains 41.48% of its original value after 5 years, more than the 38.83% resale value of the 2026 Infiniti QX60 after five years, which can save the Buick’s owner up to $4313 in depreciation.

Recommendations

The Buick Enclave outsold the Infiniti QX60 by 30% during 2025.
