Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Hummer EV SUV has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Q6 e-tron doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.
The GMC Hummer EV SUV’s Surround Vision is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Audi Q6 e-tron only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.
Both the Hummer EV SUV and the Q6 e-tron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.
The GMC Hummer EV SUV weighs 3256 to 3664 pounds more than the Audi Q6 e-tron. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.
